Innovative Pipeline Strategy
Alberta Environment’s Partners in Resource Excellence Initiative, a collaborative effort between producers, contractors, inventors, landowners and regulators has been working since 2007 to develop strategies to reduce ROW impact.
Galloway Oilfield Construction Ltd. was among the first Alberta pipeline construction companies to begin testing and using existing and new technologies to rethink traditional pipeline processes in order to achieve an end result that reduced or eliminated the problems of soil mixing, sinking ditch lines and land owner access/disruption after turnover.
The key principals of an Innovative Pipeline Strategy are planning, trench width reduction, compaction of backfill, scheduling and satisfactory turn over to landowners. The need for spring clean up is greatly reduced if not eliminated entirely.
